Prodn. involves the redn. to small pieces (24) of carpet waste with a length 5-15 mm. The obtd. material is mixed (38) with a polyurethane binder and also pref. sprayed, and the amt. of binder is 5-30 wt. % of the amt. of carpet waste material. The mixt. of polyurethane binder and carpet waste material is pressed to form cylindrical bodies. The cylindrical bodies after binding are stripped to obtain a strip-form material with a material thickness of 3-15 mm. USE/ADVANTAGE - Useful for producing an elastic back layer for a carpet. Uses carpet waste reduced to small pieces mixt. with polyurethane binder and old rubber granulate to improve the consistency.
