The unit has an input device such as a remote control key pad and a memory to enter and store a parameter value, pref. a programme location or a value associated with it. A parameter value can be altered or called up automatically and/or through the input device. On calling up a predetermined parameter value, the value is stored in the memory before and/or after the call. Another control device or a button on the input device allows the parameter value to be retrieved before being called up from the memory. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for remote control of TV to view contents of other channels etc. while watching one programme. Simplifies accessing parameters e.g. programme location etc. Easier to use.
