The housing for the opening roller of an open-end spinning unit has a trash outfall to follow the sliver intake; this is in line with the airflow and the direction of rotation of the roller. In the line of trash outfall are two screens with adjustable angle of deflection. Pref., the roller (2) has clothing to reduce the sliver (16) to separate fibres as it revolves (R). The sliver is introduced (3) by the input roller (4) and bottom plate (5), through the chute (6). A fringe is formed as the sliver is gripped (7) and fibres extracted. ADVANTAGE - The housing is standard for all fibres, and the adjustments to the screen permits correct airflow with sepn. of trash, without loss of good fibre.
