Josephson contact with good reproducibility - located between metal oxide superconducting pieces, with sepn. zone bridged using normal conducting material

Josephson contact is located between two conducting pieces made of a metal oxide superconducting material of high transition temp. sepd. by 300 nm. The sepn. zone is bridged using a normal conducting material. The novelty is that the sepn. zone is formed by a split (15) in a conducting pathway giving the conducting pieces (3a,3b). The pathway (3) is arranged on a substrate (7) having a linear expansion coefficient (alpha 2) smaller by 30% then the corresponding expansion coefficient (alphal) of the pathway. Pref. The conducting pathway width (b) is reduced to a value (q) of less than 50 (pref. 5-10) microns. The normal conducting material is Ag, Au or Cu or an alloy of one of these. ADVANTAGE - Good reproducibility.
