The position measuring method provides the precise angular position of the electromagnetically oscillated mirror (1) with an electric servo motor connected in a closed regulation loop, via a code plate (4) lying in the light path between a source (2) and a detector (3). The code plate provides a code signal identifying each angular position of the mirror, interrogated by a measuring device. Pref. an aperture slit (5) is provided by an aperture plate (6) immediately in front of the detector, at which a moving image of the code plate is obtained, the code signal interrogated at the time points for which a single code is obtained within the aperture slit.
