Moulded body for aerating wounds and diseased skin - has axial openings for air entry and radial openings for air exit to ensure circulation of air over the affected skin surface

A moulded body (10) for treating wounds and skin diseases has axial openings (12) at the ends for the entry of air and radial openings (11) on the upper surface for the exit of air, for aerating wounds and skin surfaces. Pref. there is an inlet and/or outlet tube (15) and (14) in at least one side, in order to supply the wound with external air or other gaseous substances e.g. oxygen or healing vapours. The inside of the moulded body is fitted with ribs (13), (18) which prevent it from being squashed. A tube or a wrapping of a skin-compatible textile is pref. wrapped round the moulded body. The moulded body is made of e.g. an elastomer based on silicone or latex. USE/ADVANTAGE - The moulded body can be used for treating wounds and skin diseases e.g. dermatomycoses, erythrasma, epidermophytia, esp. in the armpits and under the breasts where aeration is difficult. The moulded body aerates the skin. It can also be used for oxygen or other gases or healing vapours and thus supports the healing processes in the wound and affected skin and is also able to be adapted so that exudate from the wound and affected skin is sucked away.
