The drive has a winding shaft (1) for the awning fabric (2), mechanically coupled to a drive shaft. At both sides of the winding shaft are full belt discs (4) and guide rails (5) for fabric edge pull-rod (6). At the dome bracket (9), facing a motor, the winding shaft is suspended. The suspension is of a bayonet type in the bracket inside fitted bearing shield, retaining a rigid round axis (11). The bearing has a slot, and the axis end has a recess for the bayonet action. The motor (10) is secured in the winding shaft at the other end of the round axis, which has an axial bore for the motor cable leads. For a single awning, the motor facing end of the winding shaft has a bayonet suspension on another round axis (21). USE/ADVANTAGE - For a single awning, or a series of awnings in a row, with a facility to equalise peripheral speed at both ends.
