The guide surface (34c) and the support (28) form one piece with the tubular upright (16) which, with the foot (14) is made of plastics. The upright has an outer casing (16a) the inside of which is the guide surface (34c) made up of elastic guide elements (36) produced in one piece with the outer curved casing. The foot comprises cantilevered arms (20) extending outwards along the plane contg. the upright and joined by reinforcement ridges (34a, b) to the outside of the tubular upright. The height adjustment element comprises a cylinder piston unit (18), piston rod (24) touching the uprights support. USE/ADVANTAGE - Guide surface and support for chair seat are formed on upright which is made of plastics in one piece with foot.
