The brake lining (19) lies dovetailed in a guide in the brake block holder which is closed without play by a bolt (12) mounted rotatable about an axis (14) set parallel to the friction surface and across the lining holder (13). A security tongue (16) on the bolt (12) extends in the open position into an opening (17) of a security plate (18) which moves parallel to the plane of the dovetail. The tongue is pressed by the security plate in the closed position in which the lining is clamped play-free in the lining holder. Turning the bolt in the closed position about the axes is blocked by the security plate wherein a self-locking action occurs through a corresponding wedge angle in the contact face of the plate and tongue. The closing position of the plate is assisted by the springs. USE/ADVANTAGE - Easier opening and closing of the bolt for replacement of the linings of railway vehicle brakes.
