The work roller (2,3) run against each other into a compacting gap. Each roller has axially spaced tumbling elements (10) fixed about the central drum (9). These are set around an elliptical contour on the drum. The tumbling elements are aligned in pairs so that the edge contours only engage once in the opposite ones, for one revolution. The middle-point of each opposing tumbling element is set against each other in the axial direction. Both rollers are set at the same level, with the same distance between them and with a parallel elliptical axis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Uniformly fine compacting of rubbish by machine which can accommodate large quantities.
