The end (40) of the socket (20) facing the valve seat (18) projects tangentially over the equator of the ball. With the ball surface (42) it defines in this socket area the free space (43) where the flow direction of the flow medium is reversed. A spring ring (32) for fixing the socket on the ball can be mounted in a circumferential groove (44) in the inside of the end of the socket projecting over the ball equator. The opposite end of the socket has an inwardly aligned collar (45) for supporting the ball. USE/ADVANTAGE - The rate of flow of fluid can be increased while the valve switching times are reduced.
