The tappet body (1) is displaceable in a housing (5) and has pref. over its entire length an inner chamber (6) into which the radial bore (7) opens which links the roller (3) with the lubricating oil bore (8) in the housing. The inner chamber has either side of the roller circumference drainage openings (12) for the lubricant. Where lateral play is provided between the roller (3) and tappet body this play increases, starting from the centre of the roller towards the end of the tappet on the roller side through a conical expansion in the inner chamber (6). The tappet body pref. has at its end remote from the roller a closing spring plate (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - Low cost mfr. of rolling tappet driving injection pump in diesel engine, and providing sufficient lubrication and cooling for the roller.
