In the recovery of the solvent (I) and Mo in the dissolution of Mo core wire (II) in coil mfr., the cyclic process is carried out at constant temp., the temp. of (I) is adjusted outside the reactor and is not changed by external means in the reactor. (I) is removed from the reactor immediately after (II) has dissolved and the coils are washed with water. (I) consists of a mixt. of (a) HNO3, H2SO4 and water (mixed acid), pref. contg. 30-50 (wt.)% water and with a HNO3:H2SO4 ratio of 1:2 to 2:1; of (b) H2O2 soln.; satd. with Mo and treated with FeCl3/H2SO4 as catalyst, pref. giving a reaction potential of 720-800, esp. 750-770 mV for Fe. ADVANTAGE - (II), which is used in the prodn. of single and esp. double and triple W wires for incandescent lamps, is dissolved easily and with optimum results and min. erosion of the W coil wire, regardless of the type and size of the coil.
