At least one of the top or bottom supports points (2 or 3a) is supported on the frame via a position adjusting mechanism (4). The latter contains two chambers, separated by a piston, and to which pressure is supplied. In the release position the pressure (P1) in the first chamber is higher that (P2) in the second, moving the suspension point away from the wheel. The contrary applies when braking, the point being moved towards the wheel. ADVANTAGE - No hindrance to free radial adjustment of the axle when released and while rounding a curve.
