Connector for automatically centring pins in bores - uses complementary matching wedge faces in pin and bore for friction engagement after insertion and turning.
Connector for automatically centring pins in bores - uses complementary matching wedge faces in pin and bore for friction engagement after insertion and turning.
The connecting pin (1) has at least one cam (5) projecting radially over an imaginary cylinder face (4) and the bores (2) have at least one groove (8) radially indented relative to an imaginary cylinder face (7). The cam and groove each have matching wedge sections rising in only one direction with convex wedge section on the cam and concave wedge section on the groove. The wedge sections are brought together in automatic friction locking engagement in a two phase movement wherein first the pin is pushed to the desired insert depth into the bores so that a gap (10) exists between the wedge sections and then in a turning phase between pin and bore the concave wedge of the groove adjoins the convex wedge of the cam. USE/ADVANTAGE - Good centring and self-locking connection which can be easily released when required.
