The humidity measurement method uses a capacitor (1) which is charged via a manually or mechanically operated piezoelectric charge generator (2) and providing a DC measuring current. The current is passed through the measured sample for determining the sample humidity content. The piezoelectric device is 10 mm in dia. and 7mm long. Pref. the piezoelectric charge generator is connected across one diagonal of a full-wave diode rectifier bridge (8), with a 2nF capacitor connected across its other diagonal. USE/ADVANTAGE - For measuring low humidity content values, e.g. for cotton, allowing increased voltage potential. Wide measurement range.
