Device for prodn. of drinks by automatic mixing of e.g. syrups and water - in which dia. of lower part of mixing vessel is reduced so that liq. level measurement provides increased accuracy of volumes of smaller components.
Device comprises a vertical vessel (2) with a narrow lower section (18) for receiving the components of which small volumes are used (e.g. flavoured syrups, etc.), and which contains a number of liquid level sensors. Above this the vessel has a wider upper section (19) for receiving the larger-volume components (e.g. water), and which also contains a number of liquid level sensors. The lower section of the vessel is pref. conical in shape, its diameter being reduced continuously or in steps, and this section of the vessel incorporates a tangential water inlet connection (11). The liquid level sensors in the lower part of the vessel consist of a member of probes (20) spaced axially from each other, while a continuous liquid level measurement system is provided in the upper part of the vessel. As an alternative, both sections of the vessel may have continuous level measuring systems. USE/ADVANTAGE - For making drinks by mixing liquid components, especially syrups and water. The accuracy of measurement of the volumes of the smaller components is greatly increased.
