The cutter beam (10) with cutter holders is held on the trolley against an end stop (4) establishing the zero position of a slide (15) traversable on a guideway (14) parallel to the cutter beam. A scale enables the traverse of the slide to be measured. Descending from the slide is an arm with a magnetic stop which, by movement of the slide, can be brought against a reference side of the cutter holder (11) to move it into a desired position where it is locked on the beam. The height of the cutter beam carrier (3) is adjustable to suit different slitting machines. ADVANTAGE - Saves time and cost by eliminating need to set cutters after beam has been installed on machine.
