System for storage of data in mass memory of computer - has hierarchical management system with number of data and reference blocks for handling data

The data management system adopted with a mass memory storage system uses data blocks (D1,D2,D3) and reference blocks (V1-V5). The data quantity depends upon the application and the storage is based upon 3 hierarchial levels (V1,V5 and V2,V2 and V1). The highest level (V1) receives the total data to be addressed. Dependent upon the amount of data the assignment to blocks proceeds according to the hierarchical structure. Blocks are structured in kilo bytes. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides rapid access to data blocks.
