The prim. and sec. windings (8,9) of a transformer (7) convey auxiliary power from the processor on a stationary part of the machine to a number of sensors (2) on the rotor, and also convey measurement signals in the reverse direction. All sensors are wired to a common control circuit (10) which connects them in succession to the transformer sec. winding. Mains voltage is rectified (11) for application to an inverter (13), frequency measurement and processing stages (14,15) and an output interface (16). ADVANTAGE - Transmission of several measurements from different sensing elements is feasible without correspondingly high technical complexity.
