Tone component muting circuit for TV receiver - uses switched voltage divider stage between successive stages of audio signal circuit

The mounting circuit for short-term noise suppression during ON-OFF switching of the voltage supply has a muting circuit stage (5) between the output (7) of a small signal stage (1) and the input (9) of an output stage (2) of the audio circuit. The muting circuit stage has a switched voltage divider (R,T1) responding to a control signal dependant on the operating voltage to couple the output of the small signal stage to earth. Pref. the voltage divider comprises resistor (R) between the input and output of the muting circuit stage, coupled to earth on the output side via a transistor (T1).
