Analogue displacement or angle encoder with leaf springs - is based on two diaphragms divided by concentric sectoral slits into leaves bridged by strain-gauge strips.
Analogue displacement or angle encoder with leaf springs - is based on two diaphragms divided by concentric sectoral slits into leaves bridged by strain-gauge strips.
In the encoder, two diaphragm springs (1a,1b) are fixed at their outer edges to the wall (25) of their housing, and at their inner edges to a travelling nut (26) which runs along the external thread of a shaft (27) whose angle of rotation is to be measured. Each spring is divided into a number of leaves by slits following sectors of concentric circles. The slits run in opposite directions along alternate lines and are spanned by strain gauges (22). A null sensor (28) on the wall co-operates with a permanent magnet (29) cantilevered (30) near the end of the shaft. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for large angles exceeding 360 deg. . Device is less sensitive to disturbance.
