Assembly separating solids and fluids in suspension - by using micro:filtration fixed pore membrane from spirally-wound wire, uses no pore size setting mechanism reducing mfg. costs and eliminates pore dimension errors
An assembly which separates fluids and solids in suspension has a spiral-shaped wire tubular micro filtration membrane whose pore size can be constructed to an accuracy of less than one micron. The novelty is that the pore size of the micro filtration membrane (2) is selected to match the requirements of the fluid under treatment and that no adjustment mechanism is used to vary the membrane pore size. Also claimed is the mfr. of the micro filtration membrane. The tubular micro filtration membrane (2) is made of spirally woven wire at a predetermined tension so that the required pore size remains constant (claimed). USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly separates fluids and solids in suspension. The assembly is simplified in comparison with previous units and precludes errors arising from incorrect settings associated with adjustment mechanisms applying pressure or tension to the coil.
