The press (1) has a ventilation system (6,22,23,35) in the intake (11). A slidable mechanism (6) is anchored to the press table (9), and is moveable via roller drive (41) and regulator members (15). A ventilation belt (35) with adjustable compression angle moves about the mechanism, and engages under pressure on the chip material mat (2). The contact pressure face of the ventilation system extends to within a few millimetres of the contact point (5) of chip material mat and steel band (3). The ventilation belt consists of an air-permeable webbing. It passes over pressure rollers (19) in the device, and a roller mat (20). USE/ADVANTAGE - For producing all manner of processed wooden panels. Damage to upper cover layer due to rapid expression of air is avoided.
