There is a ring-shaped chamber forming the separating zone (13) and surrounding the cage-type impeller (14). On the circumference of the chamber are two collection pockets (22,23) for skimming off from the circulating air stream the radially outward moving separated granular material. There are are deflecting vanes (25,26) at the mouth of the pockets and the granular material is conveyed from the pockets (22,23) by air extraction along a hose. USE/ADVANTAGE - Compact separator for granular material has impeller which remains substantially untouched by granular material and suffers little wear.
