The contact spiral has two contact parts (5, 6) into which the electrical contact lines flow. One of the contact parts is associated with the steering column and the other with the steering wheel. An insulated electrical conductive tape (20) is wound in a spiral. The ends of the tape are fixed to each contact part. A non-conductive material circuit board housing is provided for each contact part which has been sprayed with synthetic material. Each housing has open, parallel, adjacent chambers for a contact line (4) and for the conductive tape, in which the line ends of the contact line and conductive tape are inserted. The chamber has a contact circuit board to which one of the line ends is electrically connected. ADVANTAGE - Is mfd. more simply and is secure against short-circuits and flash overs during both prodn. and in later operation.
