Operating procedure for switched voltage regulator - controlling duration of setting element switching-in pulses in dependence on switched regulator input voltage amplitude
Operating procedure for switched voltage regulator - controlling duration of setting element switching-in pulses in dependence on switched regulator input voltage amplitude
A current control is used in which the current (I) in the energy utilisation phase is controlled in dependence on the amplitude of the switched regulator output voltage (UA). When the switched regulator input voltage (UE) is raised, the switching-in pulses for the switched regulator setting element (ST) are shortened, with corresponding lengthening of the pause times between the switching-in pulses. Pref. the setting element switching-in control (ES) uses a comparator (K1) comparing the output voltage and utilisation current with a reference value. The switching-out control (A5) uses the input voltage amplitude for dynamic control of a discharge resistance (Ur2, T1, R3) for a capacitor (C) provided with a charging circuit (Uh, R1, R2, T2) the switching signal for the setting element being supplied in dependence on the capacitor charge. ADVANTAGE - Simplified switched regulator setting element control circuit, allowing maintenance of constant operating frequency.
