The capacitor consists of three windings (9a-9c) of metallised film and insulation arranged in succession along the axis in a tubular metallic casing (1) with a cover (2). A short conductor (18) incorporates a weakened section (11) and is taken through the centre of the cover from an external connector (5) along the axis to a metallic plate (12) on an insulating holder (13) in the central tube (10). The conductor is secured in a space (16) filled with air, sulphur hexafluoride or nitrogen. ADVANTAGE - Conductor with rupturable element can be centred precisely on axis for optimal effectiveness and made shorter and with less inductance.
