The electronic arrangement displays traffic radio messages in a vehicle. Inaudible Radio-Data-System (RDS) and Traffic Message Channel (TMC) signals are received by a vehicle radio receiver. The received signals are analysed by a RDS and TMC decoder (7). The TMC signals are presented (II) as a pictogram (13-23) via a control circuit (9), pictogram memory (8) and display driver (10). The opto-electronic unit (11) for pictogram presentation is a head-up-display (HUD), or on LED display. The pictogram can include information on: construction, obstacles, flooding, road damage, fire, animals on the motorway, ice and snow on the roads, snowfall, rain, cloudiness, wind resistance, reduced visibility, traffic light failures, road closures, etc. USE/ADVANTAGE - Vehicle ARI using ALERT C-Protocol. Vehicle driver can obtain information pictorially while concentrating on driving and current traffic conditions.
