摘要
A vacuum is applied to the surface using a bell jar filled with a transparent liquid and having a viewing window inclined wrt. the horizontal. The sealing of the surface is tested by determining whether air emanates from the surface as observed by bubbles rising through the liquid. The bell jar need not be tightly sealed against the surface or the vacuum maintained for a defined time period in order to determine the surface sealing properties. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables definite evaluation of surface sealing more economically and simply than with conventional vacuum testing.
