The friction clutch (16) set in the drive train between the drive source and friction roller shaft (4) has at least two coupling members (65,42) which are pretensioned by a spring. The coupling members and spring are combined into one pre-assembled structural unit (15) which can be the drive member. The friction roller shaft (4) forms outside the conveyor frame a shaft stump (14) and is connected there to a drive member (15,72). This drive member is detachably fixed rotationally secured and slip free on the shaft stump, preferably by a keyed connection. USE/ADVANTAGE - The structural unit can be dismantled from the relevant shaft for maintenance or repair without having to dismantle the entire friction clutch. Shorter standstill times are achieved.
