The packing container is made from plastics or cardboard and comprises a rectangular socket (10) open on a large surface side and a separate lid (5) matching the opening of the socket. The inner length, width and depth of the socket match those of the cycle. The adjoining side walls (16-22) of the socket can be detachably connected in the corners and at least one side wall of the lid connected to the socket by touch and close fasteners. A support which can be detached from the socket and in the closed state of the container adjoins the inside face of the lid extends in the middle of the socket over its depth. A fixing part can be brought into engagement with the support through a hole in the lid. The lid need only have side walls on the two longitudinal sides and these are pushed into the socket. USE/ADVANTAGE - The packing is reusable and completely encases the cycle during transport.
