The device has a manual lever (3), pivoted via a joint (55) and with a grip (7). It also has a pivoted foot lever (12) with pedals (13), and a device between hand lever and/or foot lever and drive shaft (4). The device converts the pivot movements into a rotary movement, with constant direction of rotation of the shaft. The manual lever is non-turnably connected to a prim. toothed gear, which in turn may be coupled directly to the drive shaft via a freewheel, and also meshes with a sec. gear. This may be coupled to an intermediate shaft via a freewheel. The rotary movement of the sec. shaft is transmitted to the drive shaft via wheels and belts. USE/ADVANTAGE - Vehicles with more than two wheels, or stationary appliances, e.g. muscle trainer. Angular lever area between 45 and 135 deg. is used to generate rotary movement.
