The rod core choke winding has different numbers of layers along the rod core regions (2, 3). In one embodiment the rod core choke has a region (2) with a single layer winding which starts at the end turned to the interference source. The region with the single layer winding extends to a region (3) with a winding having several layers. The core consists of various ferrite materials in the regions having different numbers of layers. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides wide-band r.f.i. interference suppression for domestic appliances at low cost. Has small overall dimensions and reduces number of extra interference suppression components required.
