Noise reflectors for aircraft of all types and sizes - are of dish shape and attached inclined upwards on side underneath engine to send sounds into sky and may have holes for water run=off
The reflectors may be spoon, dish, plate, tub, semi-tubular shaped or any other shape to keep the sound securely away from the ground and the population in the area. They may be formed larger than the transmission or aircraft engine, under which they are located. They should be aerodynamic in shape and fixed sideways or upwardly inclined sideways so that the noise is directed up into the sky instead of down towards the ground. The supporting surface under the engine could also be formed as a reflector. There may be several holes in the deepest points of the reflectors to allow for run-off of water. USE/ADVANTAGE - For all types of aircraft including helicopters. They can be applied without problems and they allow people to sleep at night.
