The forme cylinder (1) metal surface has axis-parallel grooves with clamping strips (11,12). The first, bent end of the forme plate (6,7) is suspended selectively from one of two suspension edges (3,4) fixed to the cylinder, and then inserted at the cylinder periphery. Then the forme plate second, bent end is selectively inserted in one of two prestressed clamping strips and clamped there by switching-off an auxiliary energy. Pref. the clamping strips have a U-shaped profile. Their free ends are swivelably mounted and have an insert strip (2) with the suspension edges. ADVANTAGE - Facility for manual, or auxiliary energy using plate clamping, using auxiliary energy only during clamping.
