An apparatus for making drinks like tea or coffee with a filter unit (1-39) through which hot water circulates (1-45), has a motor (1-11) to rotate the filter unit in the water. Alternative designs have the filter unit fixed below the lid of the container or urn but with the motor shaft passing through it to a small propeller or Archimedean screw to circulate the water through the unit. The motor is located outside the container, e.g. attached to the lid (1-9). Alternatively, the motor and rotating filter unit to be a hand-held combination which is dipped into a cup of hot water. ADVANTAGE - Rapid and simple process, suitable for a variety of hot and cold drinks.
