A wort tub has an internal boiler (12) which stands on the base (22) of the tub (10). Wort to be heated is pumped (27) through a recirculating line (24) to a closed chamber (23) below and to the side of the internal boiler (12). In the event of pump (27) or pump motor (29) failure a safety system (28, 30, 31, 32) is activated to ensure wort continues to flow to the boiler (12). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for heating wort in beer prodn. Guarantees continuous prodn. even when the pump fails to operate.
