In appts. for optimising flow distribution in an air filter, supplied with air by a flow channel (1) having a cross-sectional area which is a fraction of that of the filter housing (2, 10) and the filter face (3), the novelty is that (a) the flow channel (1) delivers air into the filter housing (2, 10) perpendicularly towards the centre of the filter face (3); and (b) air, delivered by the flow channel (1), flows all around a flow distributor body (5) with a shape which is optimised so that the air stream is distributed onto the largest possible area of the filter face (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - For filtering hot and/or contaminated air from vented technical equipment. The air stream is distributed over the largest possible area of the filter in spite of the short distance between the end of the flow channel and the filter face.
