The insert sole extends along the whole or major part of the foot sole, or the sole of the shoe itself, and contains at least one compressible hydrocell (2) of flexible plastic material. A pressure sensor (3) is in contact with the liquid in the cell. The sensor is connected to a time switch. The sensor activates a warning signal if an adjustable maximum press. threshold is exceeded or if a lower threshold is exceeded for greater than a defined time. USE/ADVANTAGE - The sensor reliably detects excessive press. on the ulcerous diabetic foot and can be economically fitted in conventional shoes for a wide range of patients.
