Colour photographic material has a base with blue-, green- and red-sensitive Ag halide (AgX) emulsion coats and associated yellow, magenta an cyan couplers and also light-insensitive coats, at least one of which contains a 5-mercapto-1-phenyl-tetrazole cpd. (stabiliser) of formula (I) where R1 is H or a gp. eliminated under alkaline conditions; R2 is H, halogen, OH, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, -COOR3, -CONR4R5, -SO2NR4R5, -NH-COR3,-NH-SO2-R3 or -NH-CO-NHR4; R3 is 1-4C alkyl; R4-5 is H or as R3; and n is 1, 2 or 3; in combination with 1-5 times the wt. of a dispersant (II). Pref. (II) is an organic cpd. contg. COOH, SO3M, OH and/or quat. ammonium gp(s). and hydrophobic (cyclo)alkyl gp(s). with at least 10C; pref. a (cyclo)aliphatic carboxylic acid with at least 10C or aromatic carboxylic acid; esp. a monoester of succinic acid with a long-chain aliphatic gp.; or a cpd. with a quat. ammonium gp. of the formula -+N(Me)2-CH2-CH2-OH X-; X- = an external anion. ADVANTAGE - (I) inhibits the formation of magenta fog in the bleach-fixing bath.
