A composite transparent antistatic film has an abrasion-resistant polymer cover, an electrically conducting metallic layer beneath, a core of polymer under the metal, and a welded polymer base layer which contains antistatic medium is bonded to the core layer and forms the inner surface, in the assembly the surface resistivity of the outer surface is lower than that of the inner surface. The antistatic agents used in the system are e.g. quat. ammonium cpd. polyethylene glycols, monoethers, ethanolamine, glycerides, of certain fatty acids, and phosphoric acid ester soaps. ADVANTAGE - The prod. has a high mechanical strength, can be recycled, has a virtually antistatic content in the inner face.
