Porous, polyester-based laminated film (I) is claimed, comprising a polyester base layer (A) contg. fine pores, made by orienting a mixt. of polyester (II) and incompatible thermoplastic resin (III) in at least one direction, and outer surface layer(s) (B) on at least one side of layer (A). The pore content of the 3-micron thick zone at the surface of layer (A) is 8 vol.% or less, and the mean pore content of (I) is 10-50 vol.%. Also claimed is laminated film as above, in which layer (B) contains 1-30 wt.% inorganic particles (IV), consisting of prim. particles with mean particle size R1 = 0.1-2 microns and sec. particles with mean size R2 = (1.05-1.60) x R1; in the normal distribution of sec. particles, there is a 99% probability of the presence of sec. particles with individual particle size not greater than 4.0 x R1, and the mean value of the shortest distance between the centres of mass of the particles (IV) is not greater than 5.0 x R1. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as base mateiral for labels, placards, packaging, printing paper for video printers, bar code printers, thermal recording, sublimation transfer, ink jet printers, offset printing etc., and for decorative paper, banknotes, copier paper, self-adhesive paper etc. (I) has high strength and stability, damping properties and esp. high surface bonding strength, high-quality appearance and excellent UV stability. Also claimed is information recording paper made from (I), for use in sublimation transfer, thermal transfer or transfer processes based on heat sensitivity or ink jet devices, and also photographic printing paper.
