The pipe inspection prope (32) contains an inspection head in its top section, operating by ultrasound or video, and also eddy current sensors (44), operating at frequencies between 1KHz and 5MHz to localise pipe defects. The probe also contains a cutting head (36) to cut out a sample of the piping wall, and a suction head to manipulate the sample, and to withdraw it for external inspection.
