The reaction chamber for hydrocarbons with oxygen is lined with catalytic material. This maintains the reaction-energy process of combustion in an elevated exothermal state of equilibrium reaction such that the product of reaction between hydrocarbons and oxygen in the chamber is mainly carbon-dioxide and water. Secondary reaction with the nitrogen in the air is prevented. The oxygen in the air can be so delivered to the material as to give best possible chemical reaction. ADVANTAGE - Allows variation of oxygen supply.
