Lockable jack-plug cable connector - with locking element biased into locking position to prevent tension restraint against connector separation

The connector has plug and socket halves fitted to respective cable ends. A locking element (2) attached to the socket connector half has two arms projecting in the direction of the plug connector half (8) with hooked ends (4) fitting behind opposing projections (7) of the plug connector half. Pref. the locking element is forked to provide the two arms and is biased by a spring into the locking position, each of the hooked ends being angled in the plug insertion direction. ADVANTAGE - Simple locking mechanism protected against soiling etc. preventing correct function.
