The control device monitors the load current of the supplied electrical load, coupled to the dynamo and compares the load current gradient with a threshold level, to reduce the current fed to the dynamo energising winding to a given level for a defined time interval. Pref. the load current detector is activated to monitor the current gradient when the engine is in the idling condition, with the engine air intake rate increased when the detected gradient is above the threshold level, the defined time interval corresponding to the delay time for the engine revs to increase in response to the increased air intake level. ADVANTAGE - Maintains stable idling revs. when electrical load is switched in.
