In the case of a modified RARE method, an evolution phase of the time period te is inserted between the excitation pulse and the first refocusing pulse of the multiecho train such that the time interval between the excitation pulse and the first refocusing pulse is greater or smaller than the time period tau between the first refocusing pulse of the multiecho train and the first spin echo. As a result of this, the magnetisation of the excited nuclei and the intensity and/or the phase of the generated MR signals is influenced such that even effects of local field inhomogeneities, diffusions, flow and movement sensitivities can be made visible, which effects are suppressed when using the conventional RARE method.
