An artificial finger nail is claimed, made by hand modelling on a natural nail, for fixing onto this nail, matching the visible structure of the nail and able to be taken off, replaced and reused. The invention comprises mixing a liq. (I) and powder (II) on 2 different bases coated with a wax-contg. release agent (III), to produce a solid acrylic resin which does not stick to the base; the upper and lower side, which matches the surface of the natural nail, is attached to the nail with a commercial adhesive pad so that it can be removed and replaced an unlimited no. of times. Pref. the substrates consist of a natural finger nail and a suitable nail template (which can be used to lengthen the nail as required). The underside of the nail exactly fits the upper surface of the natural nail and, with extension as required, corresponds to the shape of the template on its upper side. The nail can be made in any shape and length as required, pref. with a sickle-shaped recess modelled into the underside to match the tip of the natural nail and provide additional retention. USE/ADVANTAGE - The invention provides an artificial finger nail which is matched to the user's natural nail and fixed on with commercial adhesive pads, without using solvents or solvent-based adhesives, and which can also be taken off and put on again as required. The invention is intended for private use, or for applications in fashion, costume jewellery, theatre, TV etc.
