In the roller assembly for a papermaking machine, esp. in the press section, the movement path is selectively opened and closed at only one part of the width of the paper web. USE/ADVANTAGE - The paper web path is supported by a transfer belt through the roller stations, to prevent the web from detaching and moving freely. The system ensures that the transfer belt carries a leader strip through a free path rapidly, reliably and without risk of shearing.
